‘Vive la France as they say in Rome.’ I do love Only Fools and Horses!
Every morning, university rowers on the river. In the rain and the dark. Misery.
University Challenge's lowest score →
And Paxman is being atypically kind about it. I watched it expecting poor Exeter (who scored 15) to be greatly mocked. But there you go.

How old are you? →
Your ringtone has the answer, apparently.
To say that your choice of mobile ringtone says a lot about who you are would be to admit that there isn’t a lot to say about you in the first place. But it does say a lot about how old you are, and now that virtually everyone has at least one mobile phone, it is possible to provide a basic breakdown of age-appropriate incoming call alerts.

Editorial row engulfs Wikipedia →
The online user-generated encyclopaedia Wikipedia is considering a radical change to how it is run. It is proposing a review of the rules, that would see revisions being approved before they were added to the site. The proposal comes after edits of the pages of Senators Robert Byrd and Edward Kennedy gave the false impression both had died.
Yes, I think we all saw this one coming a mile away.

Scots celebrate bard's birthday →
Is it terribly shocking that I didn’t know who Robert Barnes was until yesterday?
(Edit: And clearly thought his name was ‘Barnes’ and not ‘Burns’ yesterday.)
I really need to wax my eyebrows.
Liam Nesson’s accent is all f-ed up.

What price virginity? →
For Natalie Dylan, the woman auctioning off her virginity at the Moonlite Bunny Ranch website (no, I didn’t make that name up) the price has supposedly climbed up to 3.8 million dollars. I wrote ‘supposedly’, because there is no way of establishing the veracity of this information. Of course Dylan’s own virginity must also remain in the ‘supposedly’ category,...

Viv Groskop profiles the key women on Barack... →
It is obvious which woman is expected to be a key - if unofficial - adviser to the new US president, and from her Princeton education to her green leather gloves, we know plenty about the first lady, Michelle Obama. But other women are set to be central to Barack Obama’s White House too, including well-known figures such as Hillary Clinton, Valerie Jarrett and Jill Biden.

Obama's Life Story Made Into An Anti-Abortion Ad... →
The ad begins by showing a small fetus in a mother’s womb as the following words appear: “This child’s future is a broken home.” “He will be abandoned by his father.” “His single mother will struggle to raise him.” “Despite the hardships he will endure this child will become the 1st African-American President.” At the end of the...
Tracking Obama's Campaign Promises →
I’m not sure how accurate or serious it is but I shall follow it anyway. I just know he’ll do everything! And I don’t even care if that sounds naive!

Obama lifts ban on abortion funds →
President Barack Obama has lifted a US funding ban for groups providing abortion services abroad, reversing a policy of his predecessor, George Bush. The policy known as the “global gag rule” had stopped US government money going to groups which perform or provide information about abortion.
This man ftw. Srsly.
To see a little dog dressed up in boots, I think, is a little over the top.

Pope asks Facebook to respect human sexuality →
Didn’t the same pope JUST speak out against homosexuality and transexuality?
He also urges producers to ensure that content respects human dignity and the “goodness and intimacy of human sexuality.”
I’m wondering if he really means that Facebook and the like should be used as a tool to promote ‘proper, Godly sexuality’. That would be more his thing.

I hate it. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it.
Battlestar Gallactica is the awesomeest!
I mean, no one’s really going to watch 90210 are they?
I seem to have become a viewer of Kevin Hill. I don’t like it so much as tolerate it when there’s nothing else on.
I remember when my life wasn’t all work and no play but that seems like such a long time ago, all told.
